MEGASTAR CHRISTINA AGUILERA TO GIVE ONLY BALTIC STATES CONCERT IN RIGA
TICKET SALE STARTS ON 15th AUGUST 10:00 A.M.
Performing her only concert in the Baltic States in Riga on 18 October will be one of the world`s biggest pop stars: three-time Grammy award winner Christina Aguilera.
The 27-year-old singer, song-writer, performer and producer is one of the most critically acclaimed pop artists to ever perform in the region. All of her albums have won at least one Grammy award, the music world`s most prestigious prize. One of the most successful pop stars of the last decade, Aguilera has sold more than 25 million albums and seen four singles hit number one on the Billboard Top 100.
Well-known for her extensive work in the entertainment industry, Aguilera has also released her own perfume and just this year launched her own range of silver jewellery.
In January Aguilera gave birth to her first child, a son, Max Liron Bratman. The star has been married to Jordan Bratman, who works in the music industry, since 2005.
Tickets to the concert will go on sale in all three Baltic States at 10.00 am on 8 August. In Estonia the tickets will start from 825 kroons and be available from Piletilevi sales points and Statoil service stations. In Latvia ticket prices will start from 36 lats and be available from Bileshuserviss sales points and Statoil service stations. In Lithuania the tickets will start from 195 litas and be available from Tiketa sales points.
Raised in the US state of Pennsylvania, Christina Aguilera first shot to fame in a local talent search in 1992 before going on to appear in the Disney channel’s The Mickey Mouse Club. Her fellow club members included Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.
In 2001 Aguilera joined forces with Pink, Mya and Lil`Kim to record the massive international hit Lady Marmalade, which topped charts as the theme tune to the Hollywood box office smash Moulin Rouge!.
Aguilera`s superstar status was confirmed in 2002 with the release of her provocative, sexy and self-assertive album Stripped. Two singles from the album stirred controversy: Dirrty, and the follow-up anthem Beautiful, which earned Aguilera the Grammy for Best Vocal Performance. The Stripped World Tour was voted as the best of the year by readers of Rolling Stone Magazine.
2006 saw the release of Aguilera`s most critically acclaimed album, the jazz- and soul-infused Back To Basics. A new start for the singer, it debuted at number one in 13 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. The first single from the album, Ain’t No Other Man, won a swathe of music awards.
In addition to her Grammy wins, Aguilera was also named Female Artist of the Year at the 2000 Billboard Music Awards; the winner of the 2004 Rolling Stone Music Award; and Best Female at the 2007 MTV Music Awards. Her charisma and beauty have also earned her the titles of Maxim magazine`s Sexiest Woman of 2003 and the number one ranking in the top 100 of female stars in 2004.
Aguilera is also a well-known philanthropist. She is a great supporter of the fight against AIDS and a sponsor of and spokesperson for a number of women`s and children`s shelters.
