Cradle of Filth nació en el año 1991, cuando las escenas Death y Doom Metal estaban en su apogeo, y el Black Metal noruego comenzaba a despuntar levemente. En estas escenas se inspira este grupo inglés -sobre todo en el Doom, el Black Metal de primera generación liderado por Venom y Bathory, e incluso el thrash de los 80-, pero lo hace de una forma original. La banda se creo en la ciudad de Suffolk y denominaron a su estilo "black gothic romantic metal". |
