También denominada H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty) HIM es una banda procedente de Finlandia, formada en 1991 y compuesta actualmente por Ville Valo, Emerson Burton, Gas Lipstick, Lily Lazer y Mige Amour. La banda comenzó su carrera, despues de 2 maquetas, con Greatest Lovesongs Vol.666, un album de metal melódico algo pesado y con una producción bastante sucia que dejaba ver que dirigirían su música a un público de gustos rockeros con toques de gótico.

On taas tullut se aika vuodesta, jolloin voimme ylpeinä kertoa jo perinteeksi muodostuneesta Helldone Festivalista! Tänä vuonna HIM-faneille on tarjolla todellista herkkua, sillä bändi soittaa vaihtuvan lämmittelijän ja Semifinalin akustisten erikoiskeikkojen jälkeen peräti neljänä peräkkäisenä iltana.
HIM on elokuun alkupäivistä lähtien viettänyt aikaansa Los Angelesissa, jossa yhtye on äänittänyt seitsemättä studioalbumiaan tuottajanaan Matt Squire. Tässä vaiheessa työnimen ”Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice” alla kulkevan levyn julkaisuajankohta on ystävänpäivä 2010.
Kolmena ensimmäisenä Helldone-iltana Tavastian alakerrassa Semifinalissa nähdään akustisen keikan soittava The 69 Eyes. Uudenvuodenaattona Semifinalissa esiintyy niinikään akustisesti brittiläinen doom-yhtye Anathema acoustic.
Tämän vuoden kotimaisiksi lämmittelijöiksi on valittu on ex-Bleak-laulaja-biisintekijä Calebin uusi bändi Flamer, Sunride-muusikoitakin sisältävä Ghost Brigade, postpunkia konemetalliin sekoitteleva Vanity Beach sekä vaihtoehtorock-yhtye Major Label. Festivaalin epävirallisina juhlavastaavina toimivat tiskijukkakoplan Club TarTar DJs:in jäsenet Ginger Boy, Egyptin Portti ja Stereo Ramses.

Following its most successful year, we are hoping that in years from now, folks will look at the 2010 Soundwave line-up and wonder how so much ROCK from around the world was assembled together in 5 cities across Australia.
For 2010 we are particularly proud to have enticed one of rock’s all time legendary artists, FAITH NO MORE ; and one of today’s most talented and intriguing bands, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE to top the bill. Joining them will be indie legends and festival kings JANES ADDICTION, the kings of dark punk AFI and one of the hottest bands in the world, PARAMORE.
We are also thrilled to be graced by the presence of the newly reformed and legendary SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE and the hotly anticipated return of GET UP KIDS and ALEXISONFIRE.
In true SOUNDWAVE fashion there will be plenty of great new bands to discover as well old and new favourites.
